Track Name: Architects
Let's build a city from the ground up
Paint the road maps with your fingers
I'll drop churches on your shoulders
Let's pretend we're architects for a day or two
Find out what it is we're building
I lost the blueprints downstairs somewhere
Find me a copy before we build the wrong shapes
Maybe we should just start building dams
Stop the river flow
I'm not sure where your river goes anymore
Someday you will find me hiding out on rocks
Scared of what your river has in store
Track Name: This Boy Blind
I'm a meandering river flowing through the streets
This city's silent on loudest hours
This boy blind regains his sight in blacklit drinking holes
Today I tried to shut down
For just a little while
We keep our distance so much we're nearly back to back
I'm not myself on nights like this
This boy blind regains his sight and drinks to poet's wildest dreams
This boy blind regains his sight; I hope that you find yours
Track Name: Degas Dancer
Throughout these notebooks are traces of where you've stepped
Turning my head as you turn through pages
Degas ballerina, your danceshoes are laced with ink
May I have this one? Let's dance together
Tonight, don't we owe ourselves one last try?
Take it or leave it, you leave me so far behind
Forgive me the clip-frame cracks, the pictures are still in tact
Hanging onto threads
Blanket barriers I couldn't dare to cross
Breathing shared memories as we lay silent
Ribbons red, blue, black around your wrist
Track Name: Bedroom
Dusk 'til dawn 'til dusk 'twil dawn
A room with waters deep for thought
A safehouse, a shelterbox, that all the while keeps my secrets close
Folds its walls about my head, the rain can't ever drench my bed
Love flows free, thoughts lay bare, bedroom
Polyrhythm raindrops, tapping, tapping, tapping, tapping late
Leaky hole above my windowpane
Wash away all of my darkest days
A safehouse, a shelterbox, that pins my secrets out of shot
Until dusk, until dawn.
Track Name: Bluebell
Once or twice for the sake of smiling faces
But heaven knows I won't forget
Denial is the hardest weight to drop
And maybe its not falling yet
Flicking through our final this and that when
Your time for me was cut so short
And every time I find the words to tell you
They fall so useless to the floor
And even though you told me smiling suits me
It's not so simple anymore
If sweet is not as sweet without the sour
Were things not sweet enough before?
In every photo every song I feel you
Bluebells sing me lullabies
For just a moment they can take me to you
To try and contemplate goodbye
Track Name: Oradour
One hundred sewing machines
Scattered through these old French streets
Failing to stitch us back together
And still the holes in the seams show
Sixty years of teaching a not a lesson learned
And never a bird in sight
The life of this town has long since taken flight
Oradour, Oradour.
Track Name: Geekk
Beyond where stars and sunsets shine
A million secrets buried lie
Unearthed by late night roaming minds
But lost in sleep a million times
Conspirators they come and go
So little we will come to know
They long to understand the truths
The lessons learned we'll never use
Compliance has become belief
Abandoned goals you used to seek
Still inquisition never fails
To find the burning paper trails
Track Name: Snakes, Ladders & Aeroplanes
If we grow another finger, there will be no rule of thumb
And freedom will beckon us
Finding petrol tanks in haystacks
Tractors in multi-storey farms
And even the birds sing in binary
Welcome to the city
White coats, black smoke
Snakes, ladders, aeroplanes
Words appear on the screen
Welcome to the city
Track Name: Final Call
We live and breathe trapped inside cavernous machines
And these machines that help you see they fail you now
These machines that help you breathe are breathless
Let's step inside crucifixes of the skies
(Collapse, rebuild)
Slow yourself down sonny Jim
You're getting near the final stretch
Listen to your subjects King Whomever
We're not build for the future yet
Just let me fly today
